Gerald England |
Gerald England was born at Ackworth, near Pontefract, Yorkshire. He worked in the insurance industry around Oldham before taking early retirement. His poetry has appeared in hundreds of magazines around the world and he has published eleven collections. Of his latest collection "LIMBO TIME" Poetry Quarterly Review wrote "his work is both personal and accessible and presents an original view of life". He founded the magazine "Headland" in 1969 and "New Hope International" in 1980, editing and publishing a quantity of poetry magazines and collections.He was the 2006 recipient of the Ted Slade Award for his service to Poetry.
