The fractal that was made into this transparent sphere is based on what is known as Galilean relativity. Roger L. Bagula developed the transforms found at a web site that is no longer online, using a radial time Mandelbrot and a Joukowski transform to pretransform the fractal. He then used a paint program to do the sphere transformations on the finished fractal. It represents Galilean relativity in a Riemannian transform and actually pleases the eye because it has a "real" feel to it.
