if they tell you that you're too tall
promise you'll descend to their level

offer to cut them down to size
to fold or pack away

if they tell you that you're too bold
take time to say "Thanks,
I've been working on that"
if they tell you you're too complicated
invite them to play cat's cradle
or to peel an onion

if they tell you that you're 'too much'
ask them which parts they intend
to excise or to focus on

tall people can touch the stars
and big people share themselves around
loud people are easily found
bold people get things done
complex people have simplified the world
and 'too much' is exactly right

too much is just enough
why would you settle for anything else?
